Jeanette Leona Hoedebecke

Jeanette Leona Hoedebecke, age 95, Edwardsville, IL, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at LaBella of Edwardsville on February 20, 2026.  Jeanette was born on October 16, 1930, in Madison, IL, the daughter of the late Leona (Harizal) Straka & Joseph Straka II.  Jeanette married Clifford Hoedebecke on September 24, 1949, at St. Joseph's Church in Granite City, IL.  Clifford preceded Jeanette in death on July 19, 2006. Jeanette is survived by her two sons: Mark Hoedebecke (Jan), Ken Hoedebecke (Marjorie); a daughter, Maureen Worthen (Cory); six grandchildren: Kate Greene (Bernt), Eric Hoedebecke, Jeff Hoedebecke (Beth), Jessica Schlechte (Jason), Kara Olsen (Rob) and Melissa Schuermann (Doug); six great-grandchildren; Isaiah Schlechte, Cliff Seaman, Theo Seaman, Emma Schlechte, Francesca Olsen, and Colette Olsen; a sister, Jerri Cash; and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Gilmore; a son, Cliff Hoedebecke; a sister, Jackie Reinagal; and a brother, Joseph Straka. Jeanette worked as a teller at Granite City Trust and as an administrative assistant at Grigsby Junior High in Granite City for many years.  She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, IL.  A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, IL, with Rev. Kevin Laughery officiating.  Interment will follow at Black Jack Cemetery in Troy, IL.
